A not-for-profit independent think-tank that conducts multidisciplinary research on issues involving farmed animals in India.
Acts a bridge for civil society working on important national issues such as public health, food safety, environment protection and climate resilience.
Committed to the values of objectivity, intersectionality, collaboration, transparency and evidence-based research.
ALPN, India's first think-tank focusing on research related to farmed animals, aims to:
Undertake interdisciplinary research into relatively unexplored and novel areas specific to the Indian context
Assist public institutions and policy makers in drafting laws and policies and provide legal opinions on important issues
Engage with stakeholders to shape legal discourse and promote policy-oriented dialogues and build a network for effective communication between them
I believe that animal welfare is a social justice issue in and of itself.
I also believe that it is intricately linked with other social justice issues like human rights, labour rights, and environmental justice.
A world built on the exploitation of the most vulnerable, whether humans or animals, could never be just.
Understanding these interconnections can help pave the way for greater collaboration between civil society organisations to achieve common goals.
